HOTEL, RESTAURANT AND CATERING SERVICES DEPARTMENT

The Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Services department was established in 1998 and started to admit students within the scope of the Tourism and Hotel Management program in the 1998-1999 academic year. Later, this program was closed as a result of insufficient number of students. A Cookery Program was added to the department in 2017, and it started to admit students in the 2018-2019 academic year. 50 students can enroll in this program each year. Within the scope of the department, 2 assistant professors and 3 lecturers, a total of 5 academicians serve.

 

Catering Services is an associate degree department established to train experienced professionals who can take part in all areas of the tourism sector, especially in the field of accommodation and food and beverage management. In addition to providing individuals with the knowledge and skills that include basic sciences and special professional knowledge and skills related to the professions in the tourism sector, which has become one of the main sectors of our country, they can communicate with the people around them, use modern technology, solve problems, and use the knowledge and skills they have gained in the field correctly to meet the needs of the sector. is to raise individuals who can offer quality products and services, follow and implement innovations, and use all resources effectively and efficiently. The Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Services Department offers Cookery and Tourism and Hotel Management Programs.

The working areas of the graduates of the programs affiliated to the Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Services department are quite wide. Hotels, restaurants, patisseries, food factories, bars, fast-food, catering (catering services), accommodation facilities, etc., mainly in tourism regions and big cities. They can work in workplaces related to food and beverage production and consumption. Tourism professional staff; They can also open their own businesses and work in public institutions, private workplaces or after meeting the legal requirements.
